Protecting Identity On Public Networks

Greetings! I travel a lot for work and frequently use airport or hotel Wi-Fi. I hate that they always make me "register" with an email address just to get online for an hour. Is there a way to bypass this or protect my info while traveling?

Hello! I travel quite a bit too, and those "captive portal" logins are definitely a privacy nightmare. They basically collect your data just to sell it to advertisers. My go-to move is to generate a temp email before I even get to the airport. I use TempBox for this because it is super fast and reliable. I just paste the burner address into the Wi-Fi registration form and I’m good to go. It keeps my real professional address shielded from whatever trackers are lurking on those public networks. It is a very simple security habit, but it really gives me peace of mind when I am working on the road.
