I've been thinking about setting up a better room at home for listening to albums and occasionally practicing, and one thing I hadn't really considered before was the flooring. Most of the advice I see focuses on speakers, wall treatment, carpets, and furniture, but I'm curious whether the actual floor makes much noticeable difference.
For example, would a hard wood surface make a room sound noticeably different from carpet or other softer flooring? I'm also wondering whether the choice matters more for someone playing an instrument than for someone who mainly listens to music.
I recently came across Florence Engineered Wood Flooring while looking at different flooring options and started wondering if engineered wood would be practical for a music room. Has anyone here experimented with different flooring in a rehearsal, listening, or home studio space?
