I'm planning a small kitchen update and have been trying to decide how much the cabinet color affects the overall feel of the room. I originally thought about going with plain white, but now I'm considering warmer finishes because the kitchen gets quite a bit of natural light.
One option I keep coming across is Woodland Brown Shaker Cabinets. I like the idea of a wood-toned finish with the simple shaker door style, but I'm wondering whether a darker cabinet color can make a smaller kitchen feel too closed in.
For anyone who has remodeled a kitchen, how did you choose your cabinet color? Did you base the decision mainly on the size of the room, flooring, countertops, or the amount of natural light? I'd also be interested in hearing whether anyone regretted choosing a darker cabinet finish after the renovation was finished.
