I'm planning to redo a small room at home that I use for listening to music and occasionally practicing. The room has older flooring and not much useful storage, so I'm considering replacing the floor and adding some cabinets for equipment, records, and other gear.
For anyone who has worked on a similar music or hobby room, would you normally deal with the flooring first and then install the cabinets, or is it better to plan both at the same time? I'm also wondering how much difference the flooring choice makes for a room where speakers and other equipment are being used regularly.
I'm in the Austin area, so I've also been looking at Custom Flooring & Cabinet Services in Austin, TX to get some ideas before deciding what approach makes sense.
Curious to hear from anyone who has renovated a home studio, listening room, or rehearsal space. What would you prioritize if you were doing it again?
