So I'm putting together a week-long trip for my mom's 60th and she's always talked about wanting to see Morocco but I have zero experience traveling there myself. She's pretty active for her age but I don't want to wear her out with crazy early mornings or endless walking tours. I've been looking at this Morocco 7 day itinerary that focuses on Marrakech and Essaouira with a couple of Atlas Mountain day trips mixed in and it seems like a good balance of city energy and chill coastal time without too many hotel changes which I think she'd appreciate. My main concern is whether Essaouira is worth the travel time or if we'd be better off just staying put in Marrakech and doing more day trips from there. She loves art and textiles and trying new foods so I'm trying to find those experiences that feel authentic not just tourist traps. Also if anyone has recommendations for a riad with ground floor rooms or easy access because stairs might be tricky for her that would be amazing. I really want this to feel special without being cheesy or overly packaged if that makes sense.
